Instruments / Bearing
Demonstration version · the deployed Bearing is built for your environment
An assessment of your firm's position against the AI regulation that applies to it.
Specify where you operate. The assessment is then scoped to the FCA and SM&CR in the UK, FINMA's guidance in Switzerland, and the EU AI Act. The demonstration takes approximately ten minutes.
This combines a Senior Manager's personal accountability under SM&CR, FINMA's supervisory expectations, and human oversight of AI-influenced decisions in one assessment, scoped to your own sector. We built this because that gap was real, in our own client work, not to fill a page on this website.
Three regulatory regimes, one assessment
Many firms answer to more than one regulator. Where the UK, Swiss and EU requirements overlap, they are assessed once, not three times.
Readiness and evidence are assessed separately
Every question distinguishes between what a firm does and what it can demonstrate. Supervisors ask for the latter, and that is where most firms fall short.
Scored in your browser, saved only to your result
Your answers are scored in your browser against fixed criteria. They are saved so you can come back to your result, and so you can compare it with a later run. They are not shared. The assessment does not ask for customer data, model code or any confidential information.
Included in the demonstration
- A readiness score for each jurisdiction
- A ready, partly ready, or not yet ready rating for every obligation
- The three priority areas identified from your responses
- A copy you can save and circulate internally
This demonstration is free because the accountability gap it tests for doesn't wait for a retainer to become a problem. What you do with what it finds, closing it internally or with our help, is a separate decision, one we're glad to support when you're ready for it.
A demonstration, and what the deployed version does
This demonstration
Runs in your browser on what you tell it, in one short sitting. A free account lets you save your results and compare runs.
Deployed in your organisation
Connects read-only to your document stores, policy library and model register, finds the evidence behind each obligation under SM&CR, Consumer Duty, FINMA and the EU AI Act, names who is accountable for each AI use, and keeps the supervisor pack current as regulation and evidence change.
Bearing provides a readiness assessment. It does not constitute legal advice or a compliance certification. Reviewed regularly as the underlying regulation changes.
