PulseX: Terms of Use

These are the rules for using Pulse. Last updated 22 October 2026.

About Pulse

Pulse is provided by Antara Innovations. It is a mobile app that works with your own Cliniko account to help you run your practice.

Pulse is an administrative assistant. It does not give clinical advice, diagnose, or decide anything about a patient. You stay responsible for your records, your clinical judgement and your patients.

Pulse is not made by, affiliated with or endorsed by Cliniko.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or over and entitled to use the Cliniko account you connect. You must give accurate details and keep one account for yourself.

Your account and your Cliniko key

You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. Keep your inbox secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

You connect Pulse by giving it a Cliniko key. That key can do whatever your Cliniko login can do. Only connect an account you are allowed to use, and only with the permissions you are comfortable with. You can disconnect at any time.

Changes to records

Pulse only changes something in Cliniko after you confirm it. Review each change before you confirm it. Cliniko may not let you undo a change. Notes written with Pulse are saved as drafts for you to check and finish in Cliniko.

Writing help and recordings

Answers, summaries and note drafts written by Pulse can contain mistakes or leave things out. Always check them against what actually happened and against your own records before you rely on them.

If you record a session, you are responsible for telling the patient, getting their agreement, and following the law and your professional rules. Pulse does not keep the audio.

Do not use Pulse in an emergency.

Subscription

Pulse is paid for by subscription through Google Play or the Apple App Store. The price, the billing period and how to cancel are shown at purchase and handled by the store. Refunds are handled by the store under its rules. The subscription starts with a 3 day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, the store starts charging you. Your subscription includes a monthly allowance of session notes. If you use it up you can buy extra sessions, or wait for the next month. Extra sessions are a one-off purchase and are not refundable once used, unless the store or the law says otherwise. If a subscription ends, the app stops working until it is renewed. Your Cliniko records are not affected, because they stay in Cliniko.

Using Pulse properly

Do not misuse Pulse. That includes trying to see other people's data, overloading or attacking the service, copying it at scale, reverse engineering it, or using it for anything unlawful.

Follow Cliniko's own terms for your account.

Your information

Your records remain yours and stay in Cliniko. You allow us to process them to provide Pulse. How we handle information is explained in our Privacy Policy. For information from your clinic records that Pulse handles for you, you stay responsible for it and we act on your instructions. We only use it to provide Pulse, we keep it secure, we tell you without undue delay if we find a breach that affects it, we help you answer requests from patients, and we delete it when you delete your account. You agree that this section is the written agreement the law requires between a clinic and a service provider like us.

Our work

Pulse, its design and its software belong to us or our licensors.

Changes and availability

We may change, limit or pause parts of Pulse. We try to keep it running but we cannot promise it will always be available. Pulse depends on Cliniko being available and on Cliniko's interface staying the same, which we do not control.

Suspension and ending

We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms. You can delete your account at any time in the app: open the Account page and choose "Delete my account".

Our responsibility

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Otherwise, Pulse is provided "as is", and you stay responsible for your clinical decisions and for checking any draft or change before you save it. Subject to the paragraph above, we are not responsible for loss of profit, loss of business, or other indirect loss, and our total responsibility for any claim is limited to what you paid us for Pulse in the 12 months before it arose. If you are a consumer, this does not take away rights the law gives you.

Law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts can decide disputes. If you are a consumer, you keep any rights you have in your own country.

Changes to these terms and contact

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
